22 people burn to death in a horrific Musina collision between a bus and a truck

More than 22 people were burnt to death when a bus transporting mine workers to Venetia Mine collided with a truck which caught fire in Musina, Limpopo on Sunday afternoon. 

The mine workers were employed by Murray and Roberts for its underground project at the mine and they were said to be from Musina and on their way to start the night shift when the accident happened.

It is not yet clear if there were any survivors from the accident.

According to Arezwothe Protection Services, most deaths happened on the scene of the accident which took place between 5pm and 6pm in the Niani area on the Musina Road.

Murray and Roberts have sent condolences to the families of those killed in the accident. The company said it will provide support to the families and colleagues of the deceased.

The MEC for Transport and Community Safety in Limpopo Florence Radzilani is expected to scene of the collision.
