Beverly Hills — Hollywood descended on the red carpet Sunday for the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards, the first and sassiest gala of the annual awards season.

Under a bright California sun, Tinseltown’s A-listers worked the entertainment press and cameras for the first time this awards season at the Beverly Hilton, in the run-up to the all-important Oscars on 24 February.

Hosts of the night Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh opened the ceremony with a string of jokes that playfully commented on critiques of Hollywood.
