ANC Treasurer-General Paul Mashatile’s Wife Passes Away After A Long Illness

Must read

Ellen Mashatile, the wife of ANC treasurer-general and former Arts and Culture Minister Paul Mashatile, has died after a long illness, the governing party announced on Sunday evening.

This comes barely a fortnight after Mashatile’s 80-year-old mother, Marriam Nomvula Mashatile, passed away on June 20.

The ANC said in a statement on Sunday night that it had learnt with sadness of the death of Mashatile’s wife.

“This is a double tragedy for the Mashatile family, who buried the treasurer-general’s mother a week ago. The organization is found wanting of appropriate words to express its words of comfort. We call on the public to give the family privacy during these difficult times. As expected all measures necessary in compliance with COVID-19 regulations will be observed,” ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe said.

“To the family, we extend our condolences at this difficult time and hope the family will find the strength to pull through. The organisation will be liaising with the family on plans for funeral arrangements.”
