PIERRE-EMERICK Aubameyang is to be spoken to by Arsenal after a video emerged of the top scoring player breaking lockdown guidelines by getting a tattoo.
As first revealed in The Sun, the Gunners captain was captured on camera being inked on his hand by artist Alejandro Nicolas Berna. It is unclear when the incident took place and if there has been a breach of coronavirus rules given Bernal could be part of Aumabeyang’s bubble.
An Arsenal spokesperson said: “We will speak to the player to remind him of his responsibilities and establish what has taken place.”
In January, the 31-year-old was allowed to leave the Gunners’ coronavirus-secure bubble in January to tend to his mother who was going through some health issues.
Aubameyang made his first start for a month on Sunday and marked his return to the line-up with a hat-trick in a 4-2 win against Leeds. The circumstances around the new ink is unclear and Arsenal say they will speak to the player
And Bukayo Saka hailed the impact of his captain following the Leeds victory, having not started any of the previous five games.
“He is amazing, I can’t speak highly enough of him,” he said of the striker.
“He showed everyone how much quality he has, when he gets a chance he is going to put it away.
“He can do everything, so we are so happy to have him and it’s good that he got a hat-trick for his confidence. We have a big week ahead and we hope he can score some more goals for us.
“The last two games we lost, but I thought we were quite unlucky. So to get this one over the line, get the win, it sets us up for quite a tough week and gives us a lot of confidence going into the games.”
