FORMER Mpumalanga Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs MEC Mandla Msibi, who was charged with double murder, and saw the criminal charges later withdrawn, has made a spectacular comeback in the new provincial Cabinet.
This comes after Mpumalanga premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane’s Cabinet reshuffle on Friday.
Mtshweni-Tsipane announced that she has decided to place Msibi back in his former department, co-operative governance and traditional affairs.
Msibi replaces his political boss, Mandla Ndlovu, who has since been moved to the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport.
“As part of my government’s efforts to advance and expedite service delivery, today I am announcing measures that will bring rapid advancement in the improvement of the lives of our people in Mpumalanga,” said Mtshweni-Tsipane.
“These changes to the composition of the provincial cabinet are necessitated by our desire to attain the targets we had set for this Medium-Term Strategic Framework, while accelerating the implementation of our economic reconstruction and recovery plan and the overall implementation of the key deliverables as set out in the National Development Plan, as well as the Mpumalanga Development Plan.”
