A tweet by President Cyril Ramaphosa on the Marikana massacre has unleashed a furious response on Twitter.
Tweeting from his personal account, Ramaphosa described the tragedy as the “darkest moment in the life of our young democracy.”
But if the venomous responses by some netizens are a pointer, people are still very angry at how events unfolded during that fateful period seven years ago.
Some believe Ramaphosa is personally responsible for what happened in August 2012.
Others felt that he should not comment at all.
Some though, felt that the criticism against Ramaphosa is unwarranted.
Others criticised Ramaphosa of conveniently travelling on the 7th commemoration of the Marikana massacre.
