Must read

AUTHORITIES in Zanzibar now say they will take stern action against hotel owners who allow tourists visiting their hotels to “dress indecently”.

Minister for Tourism & Heritage of Revolutionary Government Lela Muhamed Mussa has asked tourists to dress in a decent manner especially when in public places like markets.

According to the authorities, tour guides will also be fined at least $700 (£500) if their clients are not appropriately dressed.

Zanzibar is a popular holiday spot for western tourists, famous for its spice tours.
