The Economic Freedom Fighters has strongly condemned Israel for violating a ceasefire and resuming its genocide against the Palestinian people.
Over 400 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed in the latest wave of Israeli attacks.
EFF spokesperson Sinawo Thambo accused Israel and the United States of prioritising the expansion of their imperialist occupation in Palestine over pursuing peace.
“This is yet another blatant act of aggression, proving that Israel, along with its ally the United States of America, have no interest in peace but are instead committed to maintaining and expanding their imperialist occupation of Palestine and the broader Middle East,” Thambo said on Tuesday.
He said even the issuing of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defence minister by the International Criminal Court has done nothing to deter the situation.
“We are particularly disgusted by the role of the newly empowered Donald Trump administration, which has openly admitted to being consulted by Israel before this latest round of airstrikes,” Thambo said.
He also criticised Trump and his administration for supporting Israel’s genocide against humanity.
“Activists, journalists, students and even politicians who speak in defence of Palestinian rights are being targeted, while those who support the Israeli occupation are emboldened,” Thambo claimed.
“This hypocrisy is a clear sign of the lengths to which imperialist forces will go to protect Israel while persecuting those who resist.”
The EFF highlighted that forced displacement orders have been issued for several areas in Gaza, just weeks after some families had begun returning to their homes.
More than 22 hospitals have been destroyed, and fewer than seven remain partially functional, making it impossible to treat the number of new casualties.
“The total blockade on aid and essential medical supplies ensure that even those who survive Israel’s bombings will suffer slow deaths from starvation and untreated injuries,” Thambo said.
“Even families of Israeli captives have now turned against Netanyahu’s government, recognising that his genocidal ambitions are more important to him than securing the lives of his own citizens.”
He accused Netanyahu and his war cabinet of intentionally disrupting the negotiations aimed at releasing hostages as part of the ceasefire agreement from earlier this year.
He said the ceasefire may have been a manipulative tactic to lure Palestinians back to Gaza, to be further victimised in more cruel ways than before, after giving them hope.
The EFF called for an immediate and total boycott of Israel, urging the entire world to escalate its efforts to isolate the apartheid state diplomatically, politically and economically.
