FORMER government spokesperson Mzwanele Manyi and former kwaito star Eugene Mthethwa are some of the EFF members headed to Parliament as the party seeks to boost its caucus.

Last month, Manyi announced that he was leaving his party the ATM and joining the EFF as a grassroots member and encouraged other black professionals to join as well.

Manyi’s decision to join the EFF came as a surprise to many because he had been a member of the African Transformation Movement (ATM) since 2019 after leaving the ANC.

He was the ATM’s NEC member, and chief of policy and strategy.

Manyi said he was joining the EFF as a card-carrying member, to make a contribution in freeing South Africa from neo-colonialism; rampant corruption; and to rescue the country from the imminent failed state situation.

He said the EFF as the third largest party was “the only organisation well poised to save South Africa the failed state it finds itself- the corruption level is beyond proportion.

“More importantly, you cannot continue to have South Africa that is a neo-colonial state where we are puppets of the West. EFF is the only organisation that can bring sanity to the country.”
