The Jacob Zuma Foundation has denied claims that former president Jacob Zuma travelled to Russia after hearing the Concourt judgement.

The foundation said that Zuma was not well and he’s currently receiving medical attention in Moscow, Russia.

Mzwanele Manyi, the spokesperson for the Jacob Zuma Foundation today said he is in Russia for health reasons and that it’s been a week since he went to Russia and that he will only be back into the country once his doctors are done with their treatment

While most people had an opinion that Zuma travelled to Russia at a time of the ruling on his parole matter his foundation said the trip had nothing to do with that and Zuma and his team travelled on a commercial flight full of passengers not in secret

This comes on the back of the Constitutional Court dismissing a bid to reverse the Supreme Court of Appeal’s ruling on Zuma’s release on medical parole on Thursday.

Zuma was released from the Estcourt Correctional Centre after serving a few months.

The Constitutional Court had imposed a sentence of 15 months in jail for Zuma for disregarding the court over his refusal to appear before the Zondo Commission on State Capture, but he was released on medical parole earlier
