THEMBI Mthembu, widow of the late ANC politician and former Minister in the Presidency, Jackson Mthembu, has died after a short illness, according to a family spokesperson.
Thembi had been fighting a long-standing illness and passed away at a hospital in Pretoria on Thursday morning.
According to various media reports, the late widow had been ill for some time now.
Her husband died in January last year of Covid-19-related complications at the age of 62.
He was laid to rest in his hometown of Emalahleni in the Mpumalanga Province.
His late wife worked as a nurse at a local clinic.
The Mthembus had six children.
One of their children, Nokhwezi Mthembu, killed herself in their home when she was 25 years old.
