The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Ronald Lamola has approved a request for the extradition of two men linked to the murders of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and celebrity chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
The brothers, Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande were arrested by members of the Royal Eswatini Police Service and the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) at a rented flat in Mbabane in February.
South African authorities want the brothers to be extradited to join five other suspects, who have been charged for the two murders.
The Spokesperson of the Minister Chrispin Phiri said the ministry stands ready to co-operate with its counterparts in Eswatini.
The request is made in terms of the Extradition Treaty between South Africa and Eswatini dated 4 October 1968, and in terms of the SADC Protocol on Extradition dated 3 October 2002, to which both countries are signatories, he said.
“The ministry stands ready to give its highest level of co-operation to its counterparts in the Kingdom of Eswatini,” Phiri said.
One of the five suspects, alleged to be the paymaster in murder of AKA and Tibz, will apply for bail on Tuesday.
