A well-known Limpopo musician arrested on charges of attempted murder is expected to return to the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court next Friday after his case was postponed.

Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, appeared in court on Thursday, where he was remanded in custody.

The 30-year-old Lekompo genre artist was arrested on Wednesday following a joint intelligence-driven operation in Bendor, Polokwane.

The arrest, carried out at 09:30 by the Provincial Investigation Unit and the Provincial Tracking Team, stems from a violent incident that occurred on Sunday, 19 October 2025, along Witklip Street in Ladanna.

According to police, Chauke allegedly fired multiple shots at another vehicle during a confrontation with a motorist. A 34-year-old male occupant of the targeted vehicle sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.

The case, initially investigated by the Westernburg police, was escalated to the Provincial Investigation Unit. A warrant of arrest was issued on Tuesday, 11 November, leading to Chauke’s apprehension the following day.

Police also seized the musician’s vehicles for forensic analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.

The matter has been postponed to next Friday, with Chauke remaining in custody until his next appearance.
