Limpopo National Council of Province (NCOP) delegates will conduct site visits this week to inspect the province’s infrastructure projects that have stalled or fallen behind schedule in the Waterberg District.
“These oversight visits form part of the NCOP’s flagship National Provincial Week programme marked under the theme: Confronting the challenges facing the timely delivery of viable public infrastructure to communities,” said committee spokesperson Justice Molafo.
The programme will start on Tuesday with presentations on the state of provincial and municipal infrastructure. Delegates from the Thabazimbi, Mogalakwena and Lephalale municipalities will participate in the meeting, as well as MECs and Premier Phophi Ramathuba.
In the afternoon, the NCOP members and MPLs willinspect housing and water projects in the Marapong and Thabo Mbeki townships.
On Wednesday they will visit Northam’s wastewater treatment plant and inspect a stalled housing project in Regorogile Extension 8.
Thursday will mark the conclusion of the site visits. Delegates will inspect a road project at the R572 between Tomburke and Smartwater, water boreholes, the
Waterberg Nursing College and Valtyn Moshate Local Stadium.
The programme will conclude on Friday with a report back session on the state of public infrastructure projects in the province.
