Deputy President Paul Mashatile has appointed Gadija Brown, the former Free State finance MEC, as his special economic advisor.
“The appointment of Ms Brown will surely enhance the work of the advisory team in the Office of the Deputy President, and her great deal of expertise in various fields, will significantly strengthen the delivery of tasks delegated to us, by President Ramaphosa,” Mashatile said in a statement Wednesday.
The Presidency described Brown as a seasoned expert in commercial banking, who possessed extensive experience for the role. Brown has held key positions in the Free State government and headed multiple departments including agriculture, public works, economic development and tourism.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in management and leadership, with a focus on finance and economics.
She also has earned multiple certificates in banking, project and risk management and ethics, which the Presidency has said further enhanced her strong academic and professional expertise.
