Political fixer Brown Mogotsi is expected to appear before Parliament’s ad hoc committee probing allegations of political interference in policing on Tuesday, after weeks of delays linked to a dispute over his security arrangements.

Initially, Mogotsi refused to attend in person, citing a lack of trust in state-provided protection.
He demanded that Parliament cover the costs of his private security detail, including travel and accommodation.
The committee rejected this request, insisting that state security was sufficient. This standoff delayed proceedings, with the committee even resolving to subpoena him in January.
However, National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza declined to issue the subpoena at the time, citing unresolved safety concerns.

Mogotsi’s attendance on Tuesday was secured after a scheduling conflict with the Madlanga Commission — where he is also a key witness — was resolved.
Mogotsi has become a central figure in allegations that the criminal justice system has been compromised by political interference and criminal syndicates.
KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has accused him of acting as a “go-between” for high-ranking politicians and underworld figures, specifically alleging that Mogotsi meddled in investigations to shield Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
