THE KZN Sanco said on Wednesday it still supports the ANC and that Jacob Zuma will remain the civic organisation’s chairperson although the former president has made known his intention to vote for the UMkhonto WeSizwe Party.
The civic movement said that while Zuma announced publicly that he will vote for the MK Party, they will support their traditional alliance partner – the ANC in line with their resolution and will also campaign for it.
“All we are getting is Comrade Mtolo attacking those who are living on TV and Social media, KZN is bleeding and is about to bleed more.
“Reality is the MK soldiers who are joining the MK Party are suffering, Sanco KZN plans to march and protest for the removal of Comrade Siboniso Duma and Comrade Bheki Mtolo if they don’t improve thier attitudes,” Sanco KZN Secretary Sizwe Cele said.
Cele added that Zuma’s sentiment about the ANC of Cyril Ramaphosa is true.
Sanco KZN said the KZN ANC leadership tried bullying them to charge former president Jacob Zuma for his stance of voting for the MK, Cele said.
“Sanco has no clause in their constitution to punish former President Zuma for announcing publicly that he will affiliate with the MK Party. Members belonging to different parties are also allowed to join the civic organisation” .
A disappointed Cele went further to accuse ANC KZN secretary Bheki Mtolo, of being arrogant and said his behavior will cost ANC votes in the province next year.
“The ANC KZN leadership mainly the provincial chairperson Siboniso Duma and secretary Bheki Mtolo, disrespected Sanco by taking a decision for them that they will form part of Monday’s media briefing following the extended PEC meeting.
“Sanco was not consulted about the media briefing, it seems the KZN ANC leadership now takes decisions on behalf of everyone else,” an irritated Cele added.
