Two more charges added to the dossier of ‘AKA’ and ‘Tibz’ killers

THE case against five men linked to the murder of of Kiernan ‘AKA Forbes and his friend and former manager Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane has been postponed to Thursday for a formal bail hearing.

Five of the seven suspects appeared briefly before the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning.

The suspects are facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder, two murder charges for Forbes and Motsoane, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and five counts of attempted murder.

The state added two further charges of money laundering on four of the five suspects.

The number of charges on the case now stands at 12 including murder, attempted murder and unlawful possession of firearms.

Magistrate Vincent Hlatshwayo ordered all the accused to remain in custody at the Westville Prison.

“The matter is therefore postponed to the 14th of March for the start of the bail application,” he said

KwaZulu-Natal Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Elvis Gcweka said accused No.4, Harvey Gwabeni, had been charged with money laundering and is alleged to have shared money with his accomplices who are in turn accused of obtaining the funds illegally.

Meanwhile, two of the accused – Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande were tracked down and arrested in Eswatini last week.

They appeared in the Manzini Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday where the matter was postponed to March 12.
