History was made inside the chambers of the United Nations Security Council on Monday as Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, presided over a formal session.
Melania Trump, holding the gavel, chaired the meeting under the theme “Children, Technology, and Education in Conflict.”
During her address, she said, “Education is fundamental to preventing conflict. The US stands with all of the children throughout the world. I hope [that] soon, peace will be yours.”
The session took place amid escalating regional tensions following US and Israeli attacks on Iran, which were raised by diplomats as the meeting opened.
