The Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court has denied bail to Victor Mthethwa Majola (44), who stands accused of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the killing of Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras.

Stock was fatally shot outside the Zambesi Building in Johannesburg’s CBD on 16 December 2025.

During the bail hearing on Monday, Majola’s defence argued that the state had failed to present direct evidence linking him to the crime.

The state opposed bail, saying Majola was a flight risk, had provided conflicting residential addresses, and could intimidate witnesses known to him.

The Magistrate ruled that Majola should remain in custody until his next court appearance on 11 February.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomed the ruling, stating that it sends a strong message that violent crime will be met with the full might of the law.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage obtained by EWN and now circulating widely on social media has shed further light on the events leading up to and following the shooting.

The footage shows two men, one believed to be the gunman and the other his accomplice allegedly involved in the attack.

At approximately 12:16 pm, Stock is seen exiting Zambezi House in a black T-shirt, accompanied by another man in white. He briefly enters his Audi Q7 before returning towards the building, according to the narration of the footage.

“Seconds later, chaos erupts as Stock is shot five times. The alleged shooter, dressed in a green T-shirt, blue floral shorts, sandals, and a cap, is seen calmly retrieving what may have been Stock’s car keys before walking towards Fox Street.”

Another suspect is captured picking up two bags near street vendor stalls, one of which is a dark yellow gift bag, which is believed to have concealed the murder weapon.

The footage has intensified speculation about additional perpetrators.
