Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen officially opened the party’s 2025 Northern Cape Provincial Congress on Saturday, delivering a keynote address to delegates.
Steenhuisen outlined the DA’s priorities for the province ahead of the 2026 local government elections.
He told members that the congress was an opportunity to strengthen internal democracy and prepare for the challenges facing communities across the Northern Cape.
The DA said the congress marks a critical moment for the party as it seeks to expand its footprint in the Northern Cape and position itself as a credible alternative to the ANC in the region.
