The case against two men accused of murdering media personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock has been transferred to the High Court after the State said it had completed its investigation.

Taxi boss Victor Majola and alleged gunman Armindo Pacula appeared briefly in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where State prosecutor Vincent Mochabela said the investigation had been completed, clearing the way for the matter to be transferred to the High Court.

Majola and Pacula face charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder after Stock was shot dead outside Zambesi House in the Johannesburg CBD in December. Stock had been contracted to audit and secure the residential building.

Pacula also faces a charge of being in South Africa illegally.

At a previous court appearance on 1 April, the State asked for more time to complete outstanding investigations, including cellphone downloads, call records, financial records, facial comparison analysis and the drafting of the indictment.

Mochabela told the court on Wednesday that those processes had been completed.

“The investigations are finalised and the matter is ready to be transferred to the High Court. The investigations are complete,” he said.

The matter was formally transferred, with both accused remaining behind bars after previously being denied bail. The two accused have now spent about five months in custody since their arrests in connection with the killing.

In court, Majola waved to people believed to be family members seated in the public gallery.

Pacula, a 25-year-old Mozambican national, was arrested in Ekurhuleni after Stock was gunned down on 16 December 2025, while Majola, alleged by investigators to have orchestrated the murder, was arrested six days after the killing.

The State believes the murder was a targeted hit.

According to reports, the alleged total amount paid for the assassination was R25,000, which was allegedly split between three individuals, including the suspected shooter, an alleged accomplice seen on CCTV footage with Pacula on the day of the murder, and the owner of the firearm, who has not yet been arrested.

Police have not publicly disclosed who allegedly financed the killing, but investigators have maintained that Majola played a central role in planning the assassination.

The radio personality’s murder shocked the media and entertainment industry.

The case is expected to move into the pre-trial phase when the accused return to court on 18 June.
