Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

This policy explains how to cancel a Inside Politics digital subscription and when refunds are provided. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions and applies to subscriptions purchased directly on this website.

1. Cancelling your subscription

You may cancel at any time — no cancellation fee, no questions asked. Cancel from the My Account → Subscription area of this website, or email us at tech@insideeducation.co.za from the email address on your account.

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period.
  • You keep full access to subscriber content until that date.
  • No further payments are taken after cancellation takes effect.

2. Free trials

If you cancel before your free trial ends, you are not charged anything. If you do not cancel, your first subscription payment is taken automatically when the trial expires, as disclosed at sign-up.

3. Refunds

Because a subscription gives immediate access to digital content, subscription fees already paid are generally non-refundable and we do not give pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of a billing period after cancellation. We will, however, provide a full refund of the relevant payment where:

  • you subscribed for the first time, request the refund within 7 days of your first payment, and have not made significant use of the service;
  • you were charged in duplicate or as a result of a billing error;
  • you were charged after validly cancelling your subscription; or
  • a refund is required by law.

4. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are paid back to your original payment method via our payment processor, Payfast (Pty) Ltd, normally within 7–10 business days of approval.

5. How to request a refund

Email tech@insideeducation.co.za with the email address on your account and the date and amount of the payment concerned. We aim to respond to all refund requests within 2 business days.

6. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, including any applicable right to cancel a transaction under section 44 of that Act.
