With the local government elections less than three months away, ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa is set to launch the party’s local government election manifesto at Riverside Park near Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg, on Sunday.
The manifesto is expected to outline the party’s plans for local governance, service delivery, economic development and community upliftment.
The ANC says the manifesto is informed by an assessment of the implementation of its 2021 Local Government Elections Manifesto, as well as the party’s vision to strengthen local government and improve the quality of life of South Africans.
The launch follows the announcement on Saturday of the ANC’s mayoral nominees for eight metropolitan municipalities and 22 municipalities.
Ramaphosa said the manifesto was the product of consultations with people across South Africa.
