Blige has never shied away from the fact that she doesn’t want kids, saying that she enjoys the freedom a life with no children can give her—despite having been a stepmom to her ex-husband Kendu Isaacs’s three children. But now, the R&B icon has hinted that she might have second thoughts about her decision.

Speaking on the topic of family and community on the “IMO podcast with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson,” the singer admitted that while her early decision not to have children was about preserving her freedom, growing older has given her a new perspective.
