The ANC has distanced itself from a group of ANC Youth League members from Free State who on Tuesday evening in Sandton disrupted the launch of Pieter Louis Myburgh’s book, which claim to expose allegation of corruption against the party’s secretary general Ace Magashule.
A group of protesters, some wearing ANC t-shirts, reportedly stormed the Exclusive Books store in Sandton City and tore out pages from Myburgh’s book, Gangster State: Unraveling Ace Magashule’s web of capture.
“The ANC condemns the disruption and the call to burn books in the strongest possible terms. We wish to emphasize that those who disrupted the launch did not do so in the name of the ANC nor on behalf of the ANC Secretary General. We view the actions of these individuals in a very serious light as it undermines freedom of speech.
