UNITED Democratic Movement’s leader Bantu Holomisa is calling for an interim government to take over until the next election, after reports that those aligned to the ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule are planning a national shutdown, eNCA reported on Monday.

Magashule is under pressure to step aside over fraud and money laundering charges.

It’s in keeping with an ANC NEC resolution that members facing serious charges must step aside within 30-days.

Holomisa proposed that the ANC executive hand over power to the Constitutional Court.

“The Constitutional Court will, together with South Africans, discuss such as a thing as to what kind of interim government between now and 2024 [they want] and the ANC will have an opportunity to self-correct outside the government,” he said.

According to Holomisa, the interim arrangement can work with Parliament.

Holomisa said the executive arm of the party has messed up the government and must leave.

“This implosion is going to affect us all. Interim government till 2024 might save us from #ComradesInCorruption. ANC must hand over power to the #ConCourt which would structure such an interim arrangement,” Holomisa tweeted.
