FORMER Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba’s ex-wife, Norma Mngoma, has been summoned to appear before the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture after her withdrawal over the way her appearance had been ‘mishandled’ by the commission.

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo said he was surprised that she has withdrawn and will issue summons for her appearance.

Mngoma did not show up at the commission’s venue.

However, her legal representative Advocate Gcwalisile Makhathini addressed the chairperson on her withdrawal.

Mngoma was expected to give details on visits she made with the former minister to the Gupta compound in Saxonwold.

Earlier this year, Mngoma accused Gigaba of orchestrating her arrest last year.

She claimed this was to remove evidence from her devices detailing Gigaba’s corrupt relationship with the Guptas.

Gigaba was also expected to apply to cross-examine Mngoma and for her evidence to be heard in-camera.
