THE murder trial of the men accused of the killing of former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa has been postponed once again to April 2022 after defence teams requested more time.
This comes after Advocate Zandile Mshololo, the legal representative of the fifth accused, told the court that she was still not ready to proceed with trial, and requested the five-day postponement.
Judge Tshifiwa Maumela warned that this was the final postponement he would allow.
The accused are Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Sifikuhle Nkani Ntuli.
As confirmed by the authorities, the five men have been charged with murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, possession of firearms without a licence, among other charges.
Meyiwa was gunned down in 2014 in Vosloorus at the home of his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo, who is a South African musician and TV actress.
