ESKOM has announced that stage 4 load shedding will be implemented on Tuesday due to further breakdowns.
In a media statement, the power utility said that Stage 4 load shedding would be implemented from 07h20 after Majuba Unit 5 and Tutuka Unit 4 tripped.
This comes as a heavy blow to South Africans after Eskom implemented Stage 2 load shedding on Sunday night, which it would have been suspended at 5am on Wednesday, April 20.
“The loss of four additional generation units at Matla, Tutuka, Duvha and Arnot power stations over the past 24 hours, exacerbated by the delay in units returning to service at Camden, Matla, Grootvlei, and Tutuka power station has unfortunately necessitated the implementation of load shedding,” Eskom said.
