FORMER President Jacob Zuma’s arms deal corruption resumes in the Pietermaritzburg High court on Monday, but the former statesman will not attend the court proceedings.
The Jacob Zuma Foundation confirmed on Sunday that the former president will not attend tomorrow’s court proceedings.
The foundation’s spokesperson Mzwanele Manyi said it was not necessary for Zuma to attend the court proceedings.
“His excellency President Zuma will definitely not be in court on Monday. The reason for that is the date is a holding date and the understanding and expectation were hopefully by that date all the preliminary things, as in other court appeals and processes would have been decided one way or another,” sad Manyi.
Last Friday, Zuma filed an application for leave to appeal judge Piet Koen’s dismissal of his special plea application and seeking State advocate Billy Downer’s removal as his prosecutor.
