MEMBERS of Parliament agreed on Monday evening to postpone the debate on Section 89 independent panel report into Phala Phala.

The debate, which was scheduled for Tuesday this week, will now take place next Tuesday.

The decision comes after Ramaphosa filed court papers on Monday to review the section 89 impeachment report by an independent panel, headed by retired Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo, which found he may have committed a serious violation of the law and serious misconduct in terms of the constitution.

The ANC national working committee (NWC) meeting on Sunday rejected the report. .
On Monday, the special ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting resolved to vote against the adoption of the Section 89 report when it comes before Parliament.

The one-day meeting was called to discuss the report of the expert panel led by retired Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo.

The report found that Ramaphosa may have violated his oath of office.
Ramaphosa attended the marathon meeting but was asked to recuse himself while NEC members discussed the matter.
