EFF CIC Julius Malema has told scores of his Gauteng supporters at the Ellis Park Arena, Joburg on Sunday that he doesn’t not support the Springboks as he believes they are an apartheid symbol.

The Springboks have been on a celebratory Webb Ellis Cup tour of South Africa, after winning the Rugby World Cup for the fourth time in the history of the sport last weekend when they trounced New Zealand in France.

Thousands of South Africans came out in full force to cheer and show support to their heroes as they ended their tour in Durban on Sunday.

Malema said at the arena the Springboks emblem and colours must be replaced.

“Why are we being forced to salute the emblem that was saluted by Malan, salute the emblem that was saluted by Botha by Verwoed, by De Klerk, by murderers who were killing our people wearing the same jersey in celebration of butchering black people? That emblem and that jersey represent white supremacists that we don’t support.”

Malema also questioned why Amabhokobhoko “went to the Union Buildings, and then to Parliament and to Johann Rupert’s farm… because they are all on the same level. Parliament… Rupert’s farm, Parliament… Rupert’s farm,” he said.

He added that he’ll never be part of Amabhokobhoko and will remain supporting Bafana Bafana.
