More than 300 000 potential voters reportedly turned up for voter registration taking place over this weekend all over South Africa.
Political parties across the country have encouraged South Africans to go and register to be eligible to vote in the 2024 National and Provincial Elections.
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to lead the campaign for registration in Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, Tshwane and Hammanskraal, with Deputy President Paul Mashatile to lead at the Peter Mokaba and Vhembe regions in Limpopo.
ANC National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe is expected to start registration in Ethekwini and Moses Mabhida in KwaZulu-Natal, and ANC SG Fikile Mbalula representing the party’s drive in the Dr WB Rubusana and Nelson Mandela regions of the Eastern Cape.
The ANC’s 2nd Deputy-SG, Maropene Ramokgopa will assist the party’s efforts in the Bojanala and Dr K Kaunda regions of the North-West province.
