Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has promised to get rid of persistent loadshedding in Gauteng if voted into power.
Malema made the promise during the party’s Gauteng Manifesto launch at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday where he presented a series of multi-pronged ideas aimed at resolving the current energy crisis and a series of sticking socioeconomic challenges faced by people of Gauteng.
Upbeat EFF supporters spoke about the reasons why they will back the party at the polls.
Xichavo Nkuna said he is going to vote for EFF as Gauteng depends on the party to turn things around and bring jobs to the Province … “the youth will get jobs and stop depending on the R350 grant”.
Mapula Modise said she’s excited to be part of the EFF Gauteng Provincial Manifesto today. “ I’m here because I want change for Gauteng. We are tired of load shedding and unemployment. Our children are sitting at home with degrees. We need the EFF to come and change things”.
Modise also encouraged the youth to take the upcoming elections seriously because their future depends on it.
Boikanyo Moloi said Eskom must be dissolved and a new company must take over. “I think if we change the source of our electricity and find new people who are capable of giving us what we want, we are going to be fine.”
Tinyiko Baloyi said: “Gauteng will grow in the hands of the EFF and the party will create jobs for the youth … and graduates will be employed under the leadership of EFF”.
