Motorists are expected to feel the pinch even further this month when the prices of all grades of fuel increase from Wednesday this week.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy says the price of 93 unleaded petrol will increase by 65 cents per litre and 95 unleaded by 67 cents.
Diesel with higher sulphur content will go up by just more than three cents a litre while low sulphur diesel will decrease by one-point-seven-eight cents.
This means a litre of 95 petrol, which used to cost R24.45 a litre in Gauteng, will now cost R25,12.
