Three suspects will appear in court on Monday following mass shootings in the Eastern Cape last month that left 18 people dead.
Police Minister Senzo Mchunu revealed that the three people had been arrested while speaking a memorial service in Lusikisiki.
He said the police were still hunting for a fourth person, but they expected to arrest him soon as they new his name and surname.
The nation was left in shock after 17 family members were gunned down in a village near Lusikisiki. The 18th person died in hospital.
Police have been hard a work searching for the suspects. A specialised task team comprising seasoned detectives and forensic experts was set up to help bring them to book.
The surviving family members have been in hiding as they fear for their lives.
The motive for mass shootings in still unknown.
