Around 2000 title deeds will be handed over in Gauteng on Tuesday as part of the government’s mission to empower communities through secure land ownership.

Human settlements MEC Tasneem Motara will be in Impumelelo Extension 4 where she will hand over 951 title deeds, and later in Obed Mthombeni Nkosi Extension 3 where 949 community members will receive title deeds.

Motara’s spokesperson Gift Langa said the MEC would also engage with residents, share insights about ongoing housing initiatives and reinforce the government’s dedication to human settlements development.

He said the events reflected Motara’s commitment to enhance housing security and foster sustainable communities in the province.

Motara said in a statement on Monday that the handovers would help build a legacy of home ownership for residents who have waited a long time for the formal recognition of their property rights.

“This handover is more than just an event; it is a celebration of hope and dignity for our communities. Every title deed represents a dream realised and an opportunity for families to invest in their futures,” the MEC said.
