Bafana Bafana keeper Ronwen Williams has won the Goalkeeper of the Year and Interclub Player of the Year awards at the 2024 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards in Marrakech, Morocco.
The Mamelodi Sundowns goalie was the only player to win two awards at the ceremony.
Nigeria and Atlanta forward Ademola Lookman won the Men’s Player of the Year.
Williams, 32, told the ceremony that it was a wonderful moment for him.
He thanked his support staff and his family “for being real” with him throughout his career.
“I know this win will inspire millions of South Africans to believe in themselves, push boundaries and never forget that your dreams are valid.”
Williams dedicated his award to all the goalkeepers he has worked with.
