Suspect arrested in connection with rape of nurses in Ga-Chuene linked to multiple crimes

A 27-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the rape of two nurses in Ga-Chuene, Limpopo, and is linked to several other cases.

The arrest, made at the suspect’s residence in Feke village, Ga-Maja, also recovered a firearm and items believed to be connected to other crimes.

Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba, speaking at a media briefing alongside Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, confirmed the arrest on Sunday.

The suspect faces charges including robbery and possession of stolen property, with a scheduled appearance at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, January 20, 2025.

“The suspect is facing multiple charges, including possession of stolen property and will appear at the Polokwane Magistrate Court on Monday, 20 January 2025,” said Ramathuba.

“Investigations are ongoing, and additional charges will be laid as evidence is finalised.”

Ramathuba praised the collaborative effort of law enforcement in apprehending the suspect swiftly,
