The ANC says it stands in solidarity with millions of people around the world in commemorating World Down Syndrome Day, a day that it reaffirms its collective responsibility to build a society where every individual is treated with dignity, respect and equality.
The country is celebrating Human Rights Day at various events on Saturday.
“This is not just a day of awareness; it is a call to mobilise South Africans in action against exclusion, discrimination and systemic neglect that continue to marginalise individuals with Down Syndrome and their families,” said ANC spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri.
