As South Africa winds down a year marked by service, sacrifice, and resilience, the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has extended warm festive season greetings to its members, veterans, and citizens across the country.

In a heartfelt message signed by General Rudzani Maphwanya, Chief of the SANDF, the military expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and strength shown by its personnel throughout 2025.

“As we close another year of service and sacrifice,” Maphwanya wrote, “I extend heartfelt appreciation to all members of the SANDF, our veterans, and families for your dedication and strength.”

“Your commitment to protecting our nation at home and beyond our borders remains a source of pride and inspiration,” he said.

The SANDF’s festive greeting also serves as a reminder of the human side of military service and the families who endure long separations, the veterans who carry the weight of past missions, and the communities that support them.

“May this festive season bring you peace, rest, and joy,” Maphwanya added.

“Celebrate safely and enter the new year with renewed purpose as we continue our journey to greatness.”

From the Department of Defence to every household, the SANDF wishes all South Africans a blessed festive season and a prosperous New Year.
