In a plot twist no one saw coming, a group of Steers employees found themselves not flipping burgers, but flipping weeds.

A motorist spotted several men in full Steers uniform, armed not with spatulas but with garden tools outside one of the chain’s restaurants.

The footage, which quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), sparked a social media frenzy, with users accusing the fast-food giant of turning its staff into part-time landscapers.

The viral video prompted Steers to issue a formal statement faster than you can say “double cheese.”

The company confirmed that the gardening footage was real and that it was reported to have been a managerial decision to tackle the exterior.

While Steers acknowledged that a tidy storefront is important, they made it clear that weed-whacking is not part of the job description.

“This is not standard practice,” the company said.

Following an internal review, the franchisee received a formal notice, and the managers involved were sent back to training.

Steers also announced it was working with the landlord to ensure that nothing of the nature would occur.

Steers is rolling out stricter operational guidelines across its outlets. The company reiterated its commitment to upholding food safety standards and protecting the dignity of its staff, who, for the record, are supposed to be serving flame-grilled meals, not flame-grilled flowerbeds.
