FINANCE Minister Enoch Godongwana says he is aware of a complaint of sexual harassment against him but has denied the allegations.
Godongwana said the case was opened a week after he visited Skukuza, in the Kruger National Park, with his wife Thandisiwe.
“It appears that the case was opened almost a week after Minister Godongwana concluded his private visit to Skukuza in the Kruger National Park. The Minister has been informed that the case was opened by an employee at Skukuza who was offering massage \services to guests in their rooms.”
The statement further said that at the time of the alleged incident, Godongwana was in his room together with his wife, who said there is no basis for the allegations.
“I have always upheld and respected the rights and dignity of women, and this allegation goes against everything I stand for,” Godongwana said.
In the statement issued on Saturday, Godongwana added that he was in his room together with his wife.
“There is no basis for the allegations”.
His spokesperson Mfuneko Toyana said on Sunday that the minister categorically denies the sexual allegations levelled against him.
“It has come to Minister Godongwa’s attention that a case of alleged sexual harassment against him has been opened in Skukuza, Mpumalanga,” Toyana said.
