The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has appointed Joe Ndhlela as its new national organiser.

Party president Jacob Zuma said in a statement that he made the appointment following consultations with the MK Party’s national high command.

Ndhlela was appointed as the party’s chief operations officer earlier this year.

According to Zuma, Ndhlela joined the MK Party on the 16 December when it was launched as a volunteer.

He assisted with the capturing of signatures of members in compliance with Independent Electoral Commission legislative prescripts for the MK Party to qualify for the 2024 national elections.

“He was also instrumental in the development of both the National Elections Strategic Framework and the Training Manual for Party Agents. As of April 2024, he was serving in the capacity of chief operations officer for the MKP,” Zuma said.

“Commander Joe Ndhlela will assume the roles and responsibilities of the national organiser as prescribed by the constitution of the MK Party.”

Ndhlela replaces Floyd Shivambu who was recently appointed as the party’s secretary-general.
