Ticket sales for the Metro FM Music Awards opened on Saturday ahead of the April 25 ceremony in Durban, with public voting already underway for one of South Africa’s biggest annual music events.
The awards will be held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre, while a related Metro FM Music Awards Festival is set for Moses Mabhida People’s Park.
According to a statement from eThekwini Municipality, awards tickets are priced at R1,100 for Block E and F and R750 for auditorium seating.
Festival tickets cost R300 for general access and R750 for VIP access. The city said limited secure parking and facilities for persons with disabilities would be available.
As Metro FM marks 40 years in broadcasting, organisers have adopted the theme “Icon-Inspired Music Excellence”.
Metro FM Business Manager Kina Nhlengethwa said: “The concept blends African luxury with global style, creating an experience that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking. It reflects the station’s iconic journey of excellence.”
Durban was confirmed in December as the host city for the awards from 2026 under a three-year arrangement, with the ceremony returning to KwaZulu-Natal after being staged in Mpumalanga in recent years.
The coastal city last hosted the awards in 2017.
