Two people have been killed and three others injured in a shooting outside the Booysens Magistrate’s Court, the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Development has confirmed.
In a statement, the ministry condemned the attack and said it would work closely with law enforcement agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“The Ministry condemns this incident and will work with the relevant security and law enforcement authorities to ensure that all necessary measures are implemented to safeguard court users and personnel,” the statement read.
The situation is still developing. Deputy Minister of Justice Andries Nel is expected to visit the scene later this afternoon, after which further details will be shared.
