After going for eight years without a leader, the ANC Youth League finally elected Collen Malatji as its president at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Joburg on Friday 1 July 2023.
The weekend affair became celebratory as youth from all nine provinces got together to discuss issues affecting them including autonomy from the ANC, unemployment and the upcoming 2024 National General Elections.
The youth came out dressed in a plethora of colourful ANC regalia, from hats to T-shirts, warmers, scarves and jackets.
On the final day of the conference President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered his key address where he urged the youth to go out and canvas and encourage their peers to go out and vote.
