President Cyril Ramaphosa will lead the National Freedom Day Commemoration at the Dr Rantlai Molemela Stadium in the Free State.
The event marks 32 years of democracy and is themed Freedom and the Rule of Law: Thirty years of democratic citizenship.

The Presidency confirmed that Ramaphosa’s keynote address will reflect on the enduring strength of South Africa’s constitutional foundations, with Bloemfontein chosen as the venue to highlight its role as the country’s judicial capital and home of the Supreme Court of Appeal.
The president is expected to outline the Constitution as a moral compass.
Ramaphosa is expected to emphasize that the Constitution remains South Africa’s “true north,” guiding the nation through political turbulence and safeguarding democracy.

He is expected to indicate how freedom is not just a historic milestone but an ongoing struggle for justice, equality, and dignity.
Ramaphosa will highlight the inseparability of democratic citizenship and the rule of law, while noting Bloemfontein’s symbolic role in this year’s commemoration.
Ramaphosa is also expected to remind citizens that the 1994 democratic breakthrough was won through “blood and sweat,” while noting the importance of permanent vigilance against corruption and complacency.
The Freedom Day Commemoration brings together government leaders, civil society, and communities in a unified celebration, with ceremonial participation by the South African National Defence Force expected to add significance of the occasion.
Freedom Month is an opportunity for South Africans to recommit to building a united, inclusive, and just society, while deepening awareness of constitutional rights and promoting active citizenship, the Presidency said.
