Two Ndimande brothers wanted for the murder of SA rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane have arrived at King Shaka International Airport, repatriated from Eswatini, to face charges.

The brothers, whose names have not been officially released, were escorted by a specialised team from South Africa after being handed over by Interpol and Eswatini officials at King Mswati III International Airport.

A heavy police presence was visible at King Shaka International Airport as the brothers landed.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Athelenda Mathe confirmed the high-risk operation and said the brothers were handed over to South African police and with the help of officers from Interpol.

The suspects would only be officially arrested upon landing in South Africa, said Mathe.

The Ndimande brothers are facing charges in three separate murder cases.

“You’ll recall that the two brothers are wanted on three cases. The first one being the murder of a taxi boss in Amangzintoti in 2022, where they’re facing five charges on that case,” Mathe explained.

“The second case is then the murders of AKA and Tibz Motswane, where they’re facing eleven charges. The third case is the murder of a driver [of a taxi boss] as well as the attempted murder of his wife. On that particular case, they are facing about eleven charges.”

She said the lead investigator would execute the J-50 warrant of arrest at the airport.

“He will place them under arrest officially in South Africa. He will then process them, take fingerprints, take the warning statements, take them through, informing them of their arrest, the reasons for their arrest, the charges that they’re facing.”

Mathe emphasised the sensitivity and danger involved in the operation.

“It is a high-risk operation. We’ve got our specialised units on standby, and when they arrive, we’ll then process them accordingly and take them to court.”

“AKA” and “Tibz” were gunned down outside a popular Durban restaurant on Florida Road in 2023.
